Christmas favors

I went to Stamps & Memories for a Christmas favors class over this weekend. We learned about 9 new favors and cards.  Here are some samples:

A legal notepad cut in half with a cover. We used a Dandelion Design stamp to create the front cover.

Here's the inside of the cover:

We used a new Sizzix embossing folder and die for the flower stem. The 6 petal Sakura from Quikutz. They were aware of the error of the 6 petal and are working to get the 5 petal. I thought that it was still pretty so I got myself one.  We made a cute fold in the back of the card so that it can prop up into a calendar. What a nifty idea!

Here's a small gift holder. It holds a cocoa packet inside. We used the Sizzix embossing folder again.

Here's my favorite post-it holder.  I've been using this as one of my favorite gift options for many years now. This time it's done with a cute Dandelion Design on the cover.

Finally, some cute favor boxes done with Accucut.

Box in a bag

Here are the wonderful Box in a Bag that some local blogger ladies helped put together. Joy helped me cut down the measurements so that the base was a 3 1/4" square, using the SU Whisper White. We used 3" by 10" dsp paper to wrap around and the SU Round tab punch (Thanks Teri!) using the SU Brushed Silver for the handles.

We did a total of 20 of the bags that I will be using for one of the many retirement parties that we are having this month.  I think it's something like 8 people retiring by the end of the month. Christmas party favors

My office is having a Christmas party and the chosen party favor as a Box in a bag. We just wanted to have some candies inside so the size had to be cut down several times. We used the SU! Thoroughly Modern dsp and dsp Holiday Lounge with the tab punch for the handles. One of my co-workers designed this and decorated it beautifully.

Some of the local crafters had originally helped me with the favors but it turned out to be too big so I'm saving those favors for another event. Thanks again to those ladies that helped.  It's always nice to have people to assist.  Sorry that my pictures came out a little blurry.  Up for my next post is my OCS.  Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day.

Origami card

My upline Teri always does fun cards.  I was so inspired one morning that I tried to duplicate her card on my lunch hour, lol.  Her origami card tutorial is on her sidebar. It says to fold a 8 1/2" by 11" equally into thirds, then again. I did that and here is the result with the scraps that I found at my desk.

This was my first one so I think that I'm now inspired to try another one. Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day.

 

RAK from Cami

Cami gave me this cute RAK over the weekend.  I was so surprised and thrilled. Cami makes these beautiful cards so I was thrilled to receive this Joy Gatefold Card.  I am really loving this color combo.  I can't believe that I've only known Cami since earlier this year, we share so many similarities that I feel that I've known her longer. I'm sure that we crafters all feel that way about each other now that we've shared via our blogs.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Still can't believe how quickly the days are going. Yesterday, my co-worker asked me if I had some extra "construction paper" for our Christmas tree display. The 14 ft. tree will be brought in on the day after Thanksgiving, all through fund-raising and it'll be fully decorated by the following Monday. I will be posting some Christmas ornament shots in upcoming weeks. I haven't co-chaired this committee in 2 years but I still enjoy helping out.  Have a great week!

From my OCS partner

I received my OCS card earlier this week from Kyoko.  I was a little nervous since she had just won the featured Aloha Blogger so Kyoko's obviously an expert crafter.  I was so thrilled when I opened my card, as she thoughtfully created a waterfall card made with little smirk images.  We had learned the technique a few weeks back from Teri for Halloween when we got together for lunch.

Isn't it the most cutest card? The crafters are truly the most funny, generous and warm-hearted people that I have ever met. I'm truly fortunate. Have a beautiful weekend!

Kooky exchange

I participated in a "Kooky exchange" last Friday amongst 30 other players at work. Here are some of the goodies that I received. We used the word "Kooky" because it could be a baked good, craft or anything minimum of a dollar.

We got so much goodies that we were provided a Home Depot bag to store the non-perishable items. The last shot is a peek into my bag!

Amarllyis blooming early

Hope everyone had a safe Halloween.  I've been neglecting my other hobby, gardening. Here's what's blooming in the yard right now.

Kooky exchange

Hey all-

I'm still here. Busy as a bee....on fb. Lol. Anyhoo, I participated in a Kooky exchange at work where we have to make 30 items to exchange.  I was invited to a small Twilight gathering at Jamee's.  Cami did a great make & take using strips of scrap paper and turned it into a wonderful basket.  I loved it so much, I asked the ladies to assist me in making the 30 baskets. The rest of the ladies there were Denise, Joni, and Linda. Here is the basket:

 

Without the plastic wrapping:

We used 8 strips of 3/4" by 6 1/2" dsp, then for the belly band, we used SU Bermuda blue (3/4" by 7 1/2") and the same for Barely banana. For the handle, we did a 3/4" by 7 1/2" Bermuda blue again held together with 2 brads after we used the crop-a-dile. It was a really fun project. We finished making it in an hour.

I have been trying to work on my followers disappearance.  I finally deleted that post which everyone's sidebar had been stuck on. It was dated July 12th so some think that I haven't posted since then. Lol. I don't post a lot but that was funny.

Here's a cute one by my gff, Linda. I think that I drove her insane because I kept asking her to repeat the measurements.  I kept telling her that I couldn't hear. She was a good sport and repeated it until I got it down. But then, I wasn't watching the direction of the paper and did the bag upsidedown. Lol.

Thanks for visiting.  Although I stopped half of my fb games, I still can't give up farming.  It's definitely cutting into my creative time.  Gotta start my holiday crafting soon.  Please let me know if you are starting to get my updates.

A Halloween gathering

Claudette hosted a fun-filled Halloween gathering this weekend. Before I dive into all of my RAKs, I must remember my manners and thank a few people, here goes:

From left to right:

Linda (Himawari baby-thanks for the great m&t); Kyoko-the latest featured aloha blogger at Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii; and Jodi Lee's jack o' lantern with with an assortment of surprises.

Michelle, who did a fabulous m&t; Janet, a cute box filled with paper and Halloween goodies;  and Joy, who generously helped me with a m&t, again.

Linda (with the cellophane Himawari bag); Teri's fabulous spider box (my fabulous upline); Joy's slider chocolate; Claudette (our wonderful hostess) using her fabulous new tool; and Jenny, who makes the yummiest creations.

These ladies are some of the most innovative crafters that I've seen with the biggest hearts.  I am truly grateful to have been able to have spent such a fun day with these talented ladies.  I'll be posting my creations in the near future. I'm tweaking out another calendar creation.  I think that I went right past the upcoming holidays, right into next year. Wonder what that means???

Sympathy card

For my dear, sweet friends, the Nibling family, I tried to make a simple card since I tend to overdo sometimes.  I used the SU Bermuda Blue cardstock along with the Thoughts & Prayers stamps.

Happy Halloween box

Hi all~
Finally seem to be slowly off of fb and back to a normal life.  I tried to create something for Halloween based on this template from Laureen Meader.  I modified it a bit to suit my needs for candy.  I used SU's pumpkin pie cardstock and stamps from the Pumpkin Patch set.  To change things up a bit and show the image, I used Dusty Durango ink to stamp.

It opens up into a wonderful tab design with double pockets to hold lots of goodies. Yum!
