Christmas in July

Happy Aloha Friday everyone-

We had a fun day at work since the entire staff came out to participate our fundraising efforts called "Christmas in July." I brought brownies and butter mochi. I just got to take a picture of the butter mochi. And, Joy of A Place to be Me, again came to my rescue so that we could put some HK notepads for sale. Thanks Joy. Got the idea & inspiration for the notepad from Kyoko's RAK last weekend.

I also wanted to thank Brenda of Sweet as a Gumdrop for another Kreativ Blogger award. You truly are so sweet. I am so blessed to have a new friend as you.

I also wanted to give a shout out to Kelli B of A Wink and a Smile Creations by Kelli. I was excitedly talking to Lianne of Cute Stuff and Kelli approached me and asked for my name. It turns out that we were partners a couple months ago for Teri's one card swap. Kelli is as sweet in person as her blog.
Have a safe and fun weekend everyone! And happy creating!

Kreativ Blogger Award

Thanks Kelli B. of a Wink and a Smile Creations by Kelli for nominating me for this award. She's so kind. I'm not sure that I could just choose 7 bloggers so I would like to nominate all of you kind blurfers that have left me comments out there. Here's 7 things about me that you might find interesting:
1) I'm a big Twighter (thanks to Linda! ;-))
2) I love to garden and share whatever I can produce.
3) I'm an IT person but don't own a single video game.
4) My favorite color is Purple but I love wearing black.
5) My favorite type of music is Rock.
6) I'm actually quite talkative except when I'm crafting.
7) I work out at Powerhouse Gym at 5am on weekdays.
'Kay, now that you all are laughing so hard, please feel free to take this award and pass it on. And have a wonderful day!
I'll be baking brownies & cookies tonight for our fundraiser tomorrow for a Christmas tree. I had co-chaired the committee for 2 years and got "invited" to help out again this year since it's our last year together before our new courthouse comes up next year. The public will be welcomed to view our annual tree after the Thanksgiving weekend.

Fun day with the local bloggers

I tried to use the new SU! Fancy favor box with the Orchid Opulence paper. I used my Sweetie from Claudette. I shared my favors with the bloggers that got together at Denise's. It was fun to meet everyone and exchange stories and ideas. And tons of food. Here is a quick picture of RAKs that I received. I couldn't believe the generousity of these ladies.

Thank you to: Joni, Denise, Jamee, Teri, Kyoko, Linda, Jenny, Dawne, Michelle, Nicky, Joy, Jodi for a fun day of crafting. A big thank you to Michele, who couldn't be with us but generously gave us all RAKs. These ladies really know how to show the Aloha spirit & are truly inspiring in their knowledge & talent. A big thank you all for visiting my site.

July Aloha RAK for Jen

I finally finished Jen's RAK yesterday. I used a box tutorial found here to put my notecards in and stuck a Himawari baby on the top. I used Greeting's Farm, Two Scoop Rice Designs,
and a digital design of Ava floating. I think that I got carried away trying to figure out how to add bling and Stickles. Then, I added flowers that I got from Roses on Paper. I tried to limit my primary colors to purple and blue but pink kept getting in there. And, I kept testing my Copic pens. Hope that Jen likes my RAK. Thank you for visiting my site and have a great day.

Happy mail

I got home from work yesterday to happy mail. First up, my card swap partner from Teri's OCS, is Colleen. And she's so sweet to include extra images and sentiments too! She did such a beautiful job of making the card detailed while still trying to plan her tenth wedding anniversary this upcoming weekend. Happy anniversary Colleen!!!

Next card was from Teri. I was so surpised to find a thank you card. All I did was bring a snack to class. Isn't she so sweet? I should be thanking her. She the best upline ever, ever patiently answering my questions. Thanks Teri! And lookee, she's layered the card with sparkly dp. I am loving this C.C. Designs Sugarplums Mermaid Emma Rubber Stamp.

Well, I'm off to create my next project. Wish me luck. My Aloha RAK swap partner is non other than Jen herself, of Pieces of Me. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous weekend!

Himawari baby challenge

This is my attempt at Himawari baby challenge. I ended up using the hula girl. Jen was kind enough to send me images. I ended up using SU's Rich Razzleberry paper as a gatefold card, as taught by Teri. I used stickers that I got during Pineapple Cove's big sale.

Gadgets not working

For the past few days, my follower gadget stopped working on my sidebar. Anyone else have this problem? I think that I downgraded from IE 8 to IE 7 and it disappeared. I can see everyone in my dashboard. I can't even see it in Mozilla Firefox. Any ideas.

Teri's July one card swap

Here is my attempt at using the Greeting's Farm HG - Peace stamp. Not sure if she's Hope or Grace. I ended up using the SU's Rich Razzleberry to make the image pop. I used my Nestabilities for the pink papers, think I got them from Cute Stuff at Puck's Alley. Hope my new friend and swap partner, Colleen, likes it.

June's card swap for Kelli

I forgot to post my first card which I made for Kelli B. for last month's card swap. I tried my hand at the Tri-shutter "Gatefold" card, which I followed via Teri's link to the original poster found here. I used the SuperStar Anya from Greeting Farm. I based it on a purple theme since that is Kelli's favorite color. Hope that she liked it. I even had to borrow this picture from her because mine didn't come out of my memory card. Thanks again, Kelli!

July Aloha RAK from Michelle

OMG! I came home from work to find a big package in the mail. I was the lucky recipient of Michelle of Mushi's Creative Inspirations Aloha Rak, which Jen had graciously organized. Lookee, lookee, all the wonderful Hope and Grace collection. It was optional to do five cards but Michelle did it in a record time! Shown below is the beautiful card holder, which contained cards of every color of the rainbow...my picture taking skills could not do it justice. Thank you so much Michelle!

She has truly inspired me to get myself in gear for my Rak to mail out. Time to get myself in gear and start coloring those images. Thank you for checking out my site & for all of the kind messages.

Retirement party favors

Last week, I had made 184 retirement favors with the assistance of wonderful Joy and her co-workers. They got me off to a rolling start and encouraged me all the way. It ended being 2 types of favors, the scalloped Sizzix die and the box#2 from J's Knickknacks. I had used my preorder papers, the new SU colors such as Chocolate chip and Green Galore were so fun to use. We used the scallop oval punch with the thank you stamp from the Teeny Tiny Wishes.

June One Card Swap with Kellie B.

Kellie B. was kind enough to send me photos of my card to her. As usual, I got so excited to mail out the card, I forgot to check if the pictures that I took last Sunday came out okay. It's somewhere in my CoolPix camera. I'm ordering a mini-USB cable for it so that I can find all of my missing photos.

Anyways, it turns out that Kellie loves the color Purple, like I do. I used SuperStar Anya with a mixture of Copic pens and Momento pens. I'm still trying to find the right combination of colors of Copics to add to my new collection. It's all still a learning process with me.

Thanks for visiting my blog and being so supportive. Hope that everyone is enjoying their 4th of July weekend.
